- Seeking an experienced and highly motivated ‘DevOps Engineer’ who is responsible for the development, maintenance and ongoing support for the platform and acting as the internal focal point for a enterprise platform. The person should be self-motivated and ambitious, with an ongoing desire to maintain their knowledge level at the forefront of the DevOps process and technologies.Duties and Responsibilities
Working within an agile context with the use of CI/CDArticulate a logical design, and understand how this translates to physical infrastructure.Supporting teams in mapping their stories to the available platforms, helping effectively build and deploy secure services.Undertaking skilled platform build/support activities, such as developing hardened base containers.Spotting instances where teams are not using best practice; advising around delivery risk.Supporting engineers in service topology discovery; helping to define QA and deployment pipelines.Driving adoption of new tools so teams can improve their integration approaches; developing new or improved support processes for users.Work with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to assess applications, software and hardwareDevelop, coordinate, and administrate AWS infrastructure by integrating cloud native services with third party productsEnhancing the tech stack/configurations of existing services to improve site performance and reduce issuesBuild and manage VPC Environments that cover Sandbox, DEV, Test, Production, Training, SupportAutomate deployments via infrastructure as codeFulfill containerization (Docker etc) troubleshooting and support taskAgile ways of workingThis role requires you to know how to architect, design, develop, deploy and operate a Kubernetes cluster and be a good leader for your teamKubernetes, Python, Bash, Docker, CI/CD, Monitoring, AutomationStrong experience of KubernetesExperience of DevOps concepts and deploying CI/CD pipelines using cloud native and third-party toolsExcellent Shell Scripting and Python skillsExperience with monitoring/metrics platforms (Datadog/Prometheus)Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environmentsAble to assess security of existing applications and define standards for new projectsExperience with Nix desirableThe desired profile is an expert and candidate must be able to work without supervision, while being a good team playerWork with key stakeholders in the business such as Solution Architects/ Business teams to understand the needs of the business and map that into processes and solutions within the platformSuggest innovative solutions to business problems/processes that leverage technology to provide marketing differentiation, efficiency improvements and better user experiencesCapability of working to very tight timescales whilst maintaining quality product developmentBuilding up a useful, robust automated test suite to support a CICD environmentWork with both internal and vendor development/business teamsDesign and document solutions based on business requirementsWrite a well-designed, testable, quality code following clean code principlesSkills, Knowledge, and qualification
