Job Title: Development Engineer (Base Engines)Location: Peterborough (Fully Onsite)Salary Equivalent: 49,519 per annumContract Length: 12 MonthsWorking Hours: Monday to Thursday (08:30 - 16:45) and Friday (08:30 - 16:15)About the RoleJoin a global leader in manufacturing and engineering as a Development Engineer within the Component Engineering Base Engine Team. This position comes at a time of significant investment in clean-sheet engine designs to meet an ever-changing global energy landscape.In this role, you will act as a key technical contributor, focused on developing and validating design solutions for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, new technologies, and updates to existing engine platforms. Working in a collaborative, supportive 9-member team, you will interface directly with global manufacturing sites, suppliers, and customers.Key ResponsibilitiesValidation and Testing: Lead, plan, and execute core engine system validation activities, including both rig and complete system testing.Risk Management: Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on mechanical components and systems to identify design risks and establish testing priorities.Root Cause and Troubleshooting: Diagnose production, test, and field issues down to root cause using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D problem-solving).
