Despatch Operative

We are working with a leading large-scale glass manufacturing company supplying high-quality glass products to customers nationwide. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and hardworking Despatch Operative to join a busy logistics team.

The Role

As a Despatch Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring  products are loaded, unloaded, handled, and dispatched safely and efficiently. This is a physically active role within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading glass products from delivery vehicles safely and securely
• Checking goods against delivery notes and despatch paperwork
• Inspecting products for damage before loading
• Securing loads correctly to prevent movement during transport
• Handling and disposing of spillages safely and in line with company procedures
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment within the despatch area
• Assisting with stock movement and warehouse organisation
• Completing relevant documentation accurately
• Following all health and safety policies, particularly when handling glass materials
• Supporting other departments as required

What We’re Looking For

• Essential - Previous experience in a window, door or glass warehouse, manufacturing, or despatch environment
• Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial setting
• Good attention to detail
• Strong teamwork skills
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
