Despatch Clerk- Nights

We are recruiting for an organised and proactive Transport Dispatch Clerk to support the day-to-day coordination of drivers and vehicle movements. This role is key to ensuring deliveries are planned efficiently, drivers are briefed correctly, and all transport operations run smoothly and on schedule.Working Hours-Shift Pattern- 4 on 4 offStart Time- 6pm-6amPay Rate- £13.40 per hourMaternity Cover. Job starting 1st June. Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and allocate daily routes to driversBrief drivers on delivery schedules, routes, and instructionsAct as the main point of contact for drivers throughout their shiftsMonitor vehicle and driver activity, ensuring timely departures and deliveriesTrack deliveries and respond to delays or issues in real timeCommunicate with customers, warehouses, and transport providersComplete and manage transport documentation (delivery notes, manifests, PODs)Ensure compliance with transport regulations, driver hours, and tachograph rulesRecord and report any incidents, delays, or discrepanciesUpdate internal systems with driver and delivery informationSupport route optimisation to improve efficiency and reduce costsSkills and Experience RequiredPrevious experience in a transport, logistics, or dispatch role desirableStrong organisational and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple prioritiesGood communication skills, especially when dealing with driversConfident using IT systems (transport systems, ..... full job details .....
