Desktop Engineer

We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a company based in Ipswich who are looking for a Desktop Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for applying technical expertise, industry knowledge and commercial opinion to assess vehicle damage. Key Duties: Assess vehicle damage via images, estimates and reports. Ensure accurate repair outcomes in line with manufacture guidelines. Negotiate repair costs and settlements with stakeholders. Assess vehicle damage using images, engineer reports, and repair estimates Resolve repair viability or total loss outcomes using technical and engineering judgement Recognise appropriate repair methods in line with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards Review repair estimates and challenged excessive or unnecessary costs. Negotiate repair costs and claim settlements with repairers, engineers, and other stakeholders. Previous Skills and Experience: Strong understanding of vehicle repair methods and damage assessment procedures. Experienced in using industry estimating systems. Strong commercial awareness with a focus on cost control. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong numeracy, analytical, and reporting capabilities. ..... full job details .....
