This role will join our Safeguarding team at SW ALP & Mentoring as one of our DSL''s and is an opportunity in an alternative learning environment for a skilled professional who can support our most vulnerable young people.

The role is term time only, 8:30-3:30, 3 days per week and does not require working outside of these hours! Salary will be pro-rata and there will be opportunities to work additional days if requested.

You will report to our Head of Safeguarding and be part of a team of professionals working together to promote and ensure the safety of the young people in our care through a range of interventions.

This role requires a combination of skills to support our learners in all their activities through providing a high level of safeguarding care and reporting and management skills.

Key responsibilities include:

The DSL is responsible for ensuring appropriate arrangements for child protection and welfare are in place and adhered to at all times and manage and support DDSLs.

Support and Training: They provide guidance and support to staff on safeguarding matters, ensuring they understand procedures and training requirements. Being proactive in educating staff and children around risks and harm.

Reporting & Monitoring: Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all safeguarding concerns both internally and externally and monitor trends in safeguarding concerns to provide interventions to pupils.

Candidates need previous safeguarding experience and at least a L3 qualification in Safeguarding.
