DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN

A well-regarded and supportive secondary school in Romford is seeking a Design & Technology Technician to join its successful DT department from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, practical and enthusiastic individual to play a key role in a busy and creative department. The school has excellent facilities, a strong leadership team and a positive, welcoming atmosphere.

The Role:
* Preparing materials, tools and equipment for DT lessons
* Maintaining machinery, tools and workshop areas
* Supporting staff and students across practical lessons
* Monitoring stock and ordering materials when required
* Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
* Supporting across areas such as resistant materials, product design and CAD/CAM where needed

The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working as a technician, workshop assistant or within a practical environment
* Good understanding of workshop tools, equipment and health & safety
* Organised, reliable and able to manage their own workload
* Previous school experience is desirable but not essential
* A friendly and proactive approach, with the ability to work well as part of a team
