The Supply Register is seeking a dynamic and engaging Design Technology Lecturer to join Tyne Coast College on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching across Design Technology programmes, helping learners develop practical skills, creative thinking, and industry-relevant knowledge.

You will play a key role in preparing students for further study and careers within design, engineering, manufacturing, product development, and related sectors.

What You''ll Be Doing

• Deliver engaging and innovative lessons across Design Technology subjects.
• Teach both theoretical and practical elements of the curriculum.
• Support learners in developing skills in design processes, product development, manufacturing techniques, and materials.
• Create a safe and stimulating workshop and classroom environment.
• Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Monitor learner progress and implement strategies to support achievement.
• Prepare students for coursework, examinations, and practical assessments.
• Maintain workshop equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and learner outcomes.

What We''re Looking For

• A degree or relevant qualification in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
• Previous teaching, training, or industry experience within a Design Technology-related field.
• Strong practical and technical skills.
• Knowledge of current industry practices, technologies, and design principles.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• A genuine passion for education and learner development.
