Design Manager - Wastewater

Design Manager Altera Recruitment Group is representing an established engineering consultancy working across the UK water and wastewater sector, as they look to appoint an experienced Design Manager to strengthen their growing team. This is a senior position suited to an experinced Design Manager who enjoys taking ownership of complex design projects and bringing together multiple engineering disciplines to deliver practical, compliant and commercially effective solutions. You will have involvement across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility and design development through to construction support and handover. Key Responsibilities of Design Manager Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering water and wastewater projects across treatment, infrastructure and associated assets. Take technical ownership of design packages, ensuring engineering solutions are robust, compliant, buildable, cost effective and aligned with project requirements. Manage design delivery from feasibility and optioneering through detailed design, construction support, commissioning and project handover. Provide technical leadership to engineers and technicians, supporting their development while coordinating resources, programmes, risks and project priorities. Act as a key technical contact for clients and stakeholders, contributing to design reviews, technical discussions, proposals and project meetings.
