Design Manager

Our client, a leader in the water industry, is seeking a skilled Design Manager to join their team in Manchester on a contract basis. This exciting opportunity will see you working on key projects such as Sewage Treatment Works (STW), Clean Main Renewals, and Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs), with a minimum of three days required in the office.Key Responsibilities:Manage, direct and develop engineers, CAD technicians and graduatesGrow the design team and maintain a positive ethos and attitude within the teamLead the design process on multidisciplinary water industry projectsChallenge, improve and shape formal processes and procedures for the design team and ensure work is undertaken using themIdentify and implement appropriate software packages, driving the use of BIM and 3D modelling where necessaryEnsure the team produces design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements and are fully integratedEnsure the team produces design deliverables within agreed timescales and hoursEnsure the team uses appropriate standards, best practice, and software toolsFully record project changes for design packagesAssist with estimating hours required for design packagesJob Requirements:Experience in the engineering design industry in a regulated sectorGraduate or HND qualificationGood level of IT proficiencyExperience in the regulated water industryTrack record managing multidisciplinary design teams and projectsExperience building teams and developing junior staffDriving ..... full job details .....
