Design Manager

Our client, a renowned consultancy in the water sector, is currently seeking a Design Manager with a focus on civil engineering to join their team in Newcastle on a contract basis. This role involves secondments into Stantec, working on both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, and operates inside IR35.

• Leading design management for water-related projects, ensuring high-quality outputs
• Coordinating with project teams to deliver design solutions that meet client requirements
• Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively
• Providing technical oversight and guidance to design engineers
• Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
• Conducting design reviews and making necessary adjustments to meet project objectives
• Maintaining strong communication with stakeholders, including clients and contractors
• Preparing detailed design documentation and reports

• Experience in civil engineering within the water sector
• Proven ability to manage design projects from inception to completion
• Strong knowledge of design principles, industry standards, and regulations
• Excellent project management and organisational skills
• Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
