Design Manager

My client is looking to appoint a Design Manager in Inverness, on a contract basis, initially for 6 months. My client is a leading Tier 1 main contractor who deliver projects across a range of sectors including health, education, highways, justice, defence and aviation.

The project is a new build prison where the team is currently 6–9 months from completion. The successful candidate will work alongside the existing Design Manager, overseeing the 15 remaining work packages. The work packages include tasks such as landscaping, flooring, fit-outs, and internal joinery, alongside more complex prison-specific requirements.

The successful candidate must possess strong technical knowledge and collaborative behaviours to engage effectively with the team.

Experience and qualifications.

• Experience in working as part of a Tier 1 contractor design team.
• Experience of working on prison builds (desirable)
• Security clearance - Disclosure Scotland – Level 1
• Design qualification
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Technical experience and knowledge.

Renumeration and contract details

• Day or hourly rates based on experience
• Inside IR35
• At least one day on site ideally two days
