Design Manager

An established UK infrastructure contractor is seeking a Design Manager to join its pre-construction team. This role plays a key part in shaping project delivery strategies, managing design coordination, and ensuring robust planning ahead of site mobilisation.The OpportunityYou ll lead the integration of design, commercial, and operational inputs during pre-construction, helping to develop cost-effective, deliverable solutions across civil and MEICA elements. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you ll ensure projects are well-defined, de-risked, and positioned for successful delivery.Key Responsibilities Manage design coordination across pre-construction, procurement, and delivery teamsDevelop and oversee delivery plans, programmes, and procurement strategiesLead the design process to ensure quality, compliance, and timely outputsAct as the key interface between client, design teams, and supply chainDrive value through early contractor involvement and effective procurement planningMonitor and manage design change, risk, and technical queriesSupport seamless transition from pre-construction to project delivery About You Background in civil engineering or a related discipline (HNC/HND minimum; degree preferred)Strong experience in design and project delivery, ideally within infrastructure or water sectorsCommercial awareness and experience managing supply chain partnersConfident communicator with strong coordination and leadership skillsAble to manage ..... full job details .....
