Design Engineer£40,000 Basic SalaryLichfieldExperience and QualificationsOur client is looking for someone with demonstrable experience in a design engineering or product development role. While a degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design or a related discipline is preferred, relevant hands-on experience may be considered.Preferred (not required):Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design or a related engineering disciplineProficiency in 3D CAD modelling is essential (SolidWorks preferred)Experience taking products from concept through to manufactureExperience of working to BS/ISO or equivalent industry standards desirable but not essentialPurpose of RoleThe role is responsible for providing technical services, design, drawing and modelling product range. You will develop 3D models and 2D drawings to appropriate requirements and standards, carry out analysis of existing designs, and evolve products in line with business priorities.You will also visit and support suppliers, aiding the introduction and ongoing manufacture of products, and working with international colleagues and suppliers where required.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and TechnicalProvide technical services in line with the technical handbook and agreed design protocols, including:Conducting competitor analysis and understanding product service conditionsDeveloping new designs and evolving existing ones based on analysis ..... full job details .....
