Design EngineerAbout the Role A leading organisation within the UK utilities and infrastructure sector is seeking a Design Engineer to support the delivery of electricity infrastructure projects across LV and HV networks. This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, based in Northamptonshire, focusing on producing detailed electrical and civil design packs, supporting utility connection works, and ensuring all designs meet industry standards and client requirements. Working closely with engineers, project managers, construction teams, and DNO/IDNO stakeholders, you will help deliver compliant, buildable and cost-effective designs across a range of electricity distribution and connection projects. You will play a key role in developing design solutions for substation, cable, and network infrastructure works, supporting projects from initial concept through to construction and as-built stages, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Key Responsibilities Produce detailed electrical and/or civil design drawings for utility infrastructure projects. Develop design packs including drawings, schematics, single line diagrams, and supporting documentation. Support LV and HV network design activities, including substations, cable routes, and associated infrastructure. Ensure all designs comply with G81 standards, ENA Engineering Recommendations, and DNO/IDNO requirements.
