This is a genuinely hands-on Design Engineer opportunity where you ll be part of a 3-person design team, working alongside manufacturing and seeing your ideas become reality on the same site. We re an established, agile UK engineering SME with over 200 employees, supplying high-performance products directly to global Tier 1 OEMS We re looking for an experienced Design Engineer to take real ownership of mechanical design projects from concept through to production. Commutable from: Birmingham, Walsall, Sutton Coldfield, Moseley, Wolverhampton, Halesowen, Redditch, Aston, Willenhall, Wednesbury, Dudley, Solihull, Kingswinford and Tamworth Duties Own the design and engineering data for new and existing products. Create high-quality 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. Take designs from concept development validation production. Lead the early design stages of APQP/NPI projects. Collaborate with test engineers on verification, validation and FMEA-led testing. Identify opportunities for VAVE, material improvements and new manufacturing techniques.
