The Opportunity

We are looking for a creative and organised Designer to join a growing company here in the Black Country area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with design experience who enjoys turning customer ideas into practical, innovative solutions.

Working closely with customers, the sales team and production, you''ll create bespoke packaging designs using AG/CAD software, ensuring every solution is both visually effective and fit for purpose. No two projects are the same, making this a varied and rewarding role where you''ll see your ideas come to life.

You''ll be joining a small, supportive design team with an exciting period of growth ahead, including the appointment of a new Design Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce innovative corrugated packaging designs using AG/CAD Design software.
• Work directly with customers and the sales team to understand design briefs and project requirements.
• Create bespoke packaging solutions ranging from straightforward designs to complex structural packaging.
• Use your creativity and initiative to suggest improvements and alternative design concepts.
• Select suitable board grades and cardboard thicknesses based on product, transportation and storage requirements.
• Ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and suitable for manufacture.
• Liaise with production throughout the design process.
• Support sample creation and other design department activities where required.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  
  

About You

• Experience within the corrugated packaging or packaging industry.
• Experience using AG/CAD Design software or similar CAD packaging design packages.
• Understanding of corrugated board grades and packaging materials.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Creative problem solver with the ability to use your own initiative.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
