Job: Design Engineer Company: BAE Systems Hourly Rate: £31.29 PAYE or £42.08 UmbrellaLocation: Portsmouth - hybridContract: 12 months (Opportunity to be extended)Working Hours: 37 hours per weekAbout The RoleTo undertake a defined range of detail design activities in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements of Mechanical/Piping design package and reports for Installation solutions on Legacy Warships, supplying advice and support to operations and other functions and/or to organise and co-ordinate aspects of detail design activity ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements.Key Responsibilities:Support the development of best practice to increase the capability, performance of tools and processesSupport the developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational needTo identify training requirements, skills gaps and development requirements of own discipline.Undertake task verification/checking of other Design Engineer''s work as directed by Principal Engineering Manager.To lead and conduct ship trials, surveys and engineering support activities.Skills and Qualifications:Possesses in-depth knowledge and design experience of all aspects within Mechanical/Piping Disipline using AutoCAD/Inventor.Able to perform robust analysis using recognised draughting and analytical tools and to make sound judgements based on ..... full job details .....
