Design Engineer

Our client, is currently seeking a Design Engineer to join their highway and transport team. This full-time secondment with the option to work from home a few days a week once embedded in the role.

• Designing and managing the delivery of 20 mph zones projects
• Implementing physical features such as road humps, chicanes, and pedestrian crossings
• Conducting road safety assessments and evaluations
• Coordinating and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and guidelines
• Preparing detailed design reports and documentation
• Overseeing project timelines and budgets to ensure successful delivery
• Providing technical support and guidance throughout project lifecycle

• Experience in road safety and highway design
• Proficiency in relevant design software and tools
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines within the highways sector
• Excellent project management skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
