Are you an experienced Design Engineer looking for your next step into a senior or lead-level position?
We are recruiting on behalf of an established engineering business within the lift and vertical transportation industry, offering an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to take ownership of technical design projects while working alongside experienced engineering and manufacturing teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer who wants to take on greater responsibility, lead projects and contribute to the development of engineering solutions within a growing organisation.

As a Design Engineer, you will take responsibility for the design and development of a range of technically complex and bespoke engineering projects.
You will provide technical guidance to other members of the design team, work closely with manufacturing and project teams, and ensure designs meet customer requirements, engineering standards and quality expectations.
The role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with time split between the London office, head office and home working.

• Leading the design and development of engineering projects from concept through to completion.
• Producing and reviewing detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
• Taking ownership of technical design requirements and project deliverables.
• Reviewing customer specifications and translating requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant engineering standards, regulations and company procedures.
• Working closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient and cost-effective.
• Providing technical support and guidance to other Design Engineers.
• Reviewing and approving engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Identifying and resolving complex design and engineering issues.
• Supporting design improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders where required.
• Managing multiple design projects and ensuring work is delivered within agreed timescales.
• Supporting the introduction of new products, systems and engineering solutions.
• Contributing to the development and improvement of design processes and standards.

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer with the technical ability and confidence to take ownership of projects and provide guidance to others.
You will ideally have:

• Proven experience within a Design Engineering environment.
• Strong experience using 2D and/or 3D CAD software.
• A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, technical drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Experience taking ownership of engineering designs from concept through to completion.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to review and challenge designs from a technical perspective.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with engineering, manufacturing and project teams.
• Experience mentoring, supporting or technically guiding junior engineers would be advantageous.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.

Experience within lift engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, construction, access systems or another related engineering environment would be highly advantageous.

• -48,000 - -60,000 salary, depending on experience.
