Design Engineer

Design Engineer Our client is a well-established engineering business specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke automated equipment. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking projects from concept through to manufacture while working on innovative automation solutions. The Role As a Design Engineer, you''ll be responsible for designing bespoke machinery and automation systems, ensuring designs are practical, cost-effective and manufacturable. Working closely with production, electrical engineers and customers, you''ll support projects from initial concept through to commissioning. Key Responsibilities Design bespoke mechanical equipment and automated machinery using 3D CAD. Produce manufacturing drawings, BOMs and technical documentation. Design assemblies incorporating motors, sensors, actuators and drives. Liaise with electrical and controls engineers to ensure seamless system integration. Support projects from concept through manufacture and installation. Attend design reviews and provide technical support where required. Work closely with production to resolve manufacturing issues. Identify opportunities for product improvements and cost reductions. Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards.
