Design Engineer

Imperial Recruitment Group are delighted to announce that we are working on behalf of an industry leading manufacturer to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis.

LOCATION: Teesside

SALARY: Competitive + free onsite gym!

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: Permanent

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the next generation of products. You will be using engineering, creative and hands on mechanical skills to create prototype and test designs according to a specification right through to serial production release.

DUTIES ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Design and develop new products and systems
• Support the Senior / Lead Design Engineer in the development of new products
• Create and maintain 3D & 2D data
• Provide technical expertise
• Support research and benchmarking on competitor products and which could be developed in the future
• Support the research and identification of new technologies and materials
• Coordinate with key stakeholders internal and external
• Communicate and present development project status at department level
• Participate in prototype builds and testing
• Support engineering change activities

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

• A minimum of HNC in Mechanical Engineering or relatable subject
• Demonstrable experience as a Design Engineer ideally with NPD
• Confident with Solidworks
• High level of competence with GD&T
• Experience of design for manufacture
• Experience of design costs
• Confident with MS Office
• Strong communicator
