Design Engineer – Architectural Metalwork

We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join a renowned architectural metalwork business delivering high-quality bespoke metalwork solutions for landmark projects across the UK. The business also works on innovative product lines, including architectural lighting solutions.

This role is 60% design-focused and 40% project management, offering scope for career growth with no fixed progression limits – it’s up to you how far you want to take your career.

Key Responsibilities of a Design Engineer:

• Manage your own CAD workload from concept to delivery.

• Collaborate with the fabrication team to resolve design challenges.

• Liaise with clients and architects to maintain and grow relationships.

• Attend site surveys and coordinate with installation teams.

• Plan and manage project labour and resources.

• Report to the Design Manager and Director.
  
  

Ideally, as a Design Engineer you will have:

• 2–3 years’ experience in architectural metalwork and sheet metal design

• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD 

• Ability to translate conceptual designs into buildable projects.

• Self-management skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
