About the Role:

Supply Desk is seeking a passionate and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Watford starting this September. This is a full-time position offering a fantastic opportunity to inspire and engage students in the exciting world of Design and Technology.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress regularly.
  • Support studentsandrsquo; development of practical skills, safe use of tools, and design thinking.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, including technicians and other subject teachers.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and promote the subject across the school.
  • Maintain health and safety standards in the workshop and classroom.



Person Specification:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical, hands-on learning.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check if not already held.
