Deputy Manager (Dementia Care)
Salary: £33,000
Hours: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Start: 7:00–8:30am | Finish: 3:30–5:00pm), alternate weekends, occasional late finishes to engage with night staff.

Location: Candidates must live within reasonable travel distance – locations like Leeds may be considered too far.

Role Overview:
A fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Manager to take charge of a specialist dementia floor (approx. 20 residents) in a luxury care setting. This role is predominantly supernumerary, but you may be required to support on the floor occasionally.

You will share on-call responsibilities with another Deputy Manager who oversees the residential side of the home.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the dementia floor and lead a team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
Act as a key support to the Registered Manager, including stepping into full management when required.
Uphold and champion dignity, choice, independence, and respect for all residents.
Contribute to compliance and auditing processes to meet all care regulations and internal standards.
Coordinate rotas, hold regular staff meetings, and ensure high standards of documentation and care planning.
Act as a role model and leader, mentoring and supervising staff, and supporting with training and inductions.
Communicate effectively with external professionals, residents, families, and internal teams.
Take part in a rota’d on-call system for out-of-hours support.

Person Specification:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in care, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Ideally holds a Level 5 Health & Social Care qualification or working towards it.
Experienced in dementia care and confident in managing a team.
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
Compassionate, flexible, and committed to high standards of care.
Must be confident in supporting, coaching, and giving feedback to junior colleagues.
