Your new role
This is a rare opportunity to join a senior leadership team and take strategic responsibility for Estates, Facilities Management, Security, Health & Safety, and Fire compliance across a significant operational estate.The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping long-term estate strategy, leading multidisciplinary teams, managing major supplier relationships, and providing expert advice to executive leadership on security, resilience, facilities management and workplace safety.

This is a high-profile leadership position responsible for ensuring the organisation''s estate, facilities and security arrangements support current and future operational requirements. Working closely with executive stakeholders, you will provide strategic direction, assurance and governance across a broad portfolio of responsibilities including:

• Strategic estate planning and workplace development
• Leadership of hard and soft Facilities Management services
• Physical and personnel security programmes
• Health, Safety and Fire compliance
• Business resilience and incident management
• Supplier and contract management
• Risk management and assurance reporting
• Team leadership and development

You will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team covering security, estates and health & safety functions while managing key outsourced service providers and ensuring value for money across a substantial budget portfolio.

What you''ll need to succeed

Essential Experience

• Significant leadership experience within Estates, Facilities Management, Security or a related operational environment.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness and supplier management expertise.
• Experience operating within regulated, compliance-led environments.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
• High levels of IT literacy across Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable Experience

• Experience within government, defence, infrastructure, utilities or similarly regulated sectors.
• Knowledge of security risk management frameworks.
• Experience delivering estates or workplace transformation programmes.
• Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH.
• Experience working with large-scale outsourced FM contracts.
• Programme and project management experience.
