OverviewThe Deputy Clinical Lead for Primary Care is a critical role that comes with a wide range of responsibilities. The deputy clinical lead will be responsible for supporting the Clinical Lead in the delivery of high-quality primary care services by working closely with the Clinical Lead to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures. In addition, they will ensure that the practice is meeting the needs of its patients while providing clinical leadership.
Another important responsibility of the Deputy Clinical Lead is overseeing the work of the clinical staff, which includes providing guidance and support, monitoring performance, and ensuring that all staff members have the necessary training and resources to do their jobs effectively. This calls for a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The role of the Deputy Clinical Lead is not limited to clinical responsibilities alone. They will also be involved in the business side of the practice, including budgeting, financial management, and strategic planning. The Deputy Clinical Lead will be required to work closely with the Clinical Lead and other members of the leadership team to ensure that the practice is operating efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
Providing Clinical Leadership: work closely with the Clinical Lead; developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures.
Overseeing Clinical Staff: oversee the work of the clinical staff; provide guidance and support, monitor performance, and ensure that all staff members have the necessary training and resources to do their jobs effectively; ensure clinical operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Managing Business Operations: be involved in the business side of the practice; work with the Clinical Lead and other members of the leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans, budgeting, and financial management; ensure the practice is operating efficiently and effectively.
Maintaining Compliance: responsible for ensuring that the practice is complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards; compliance with clinical, financial, and legal requirements.
Building Relationships: responsible for building and maintaining relationships with patients, staff, and other healthcare providers; enhance the reputation of the practice and ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care.
Requirements
Strong clinical leadership and management skills
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience in budgeting, financial management, and strategic planning
Commitment to maintaining compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards
Ability to build and maintain relationships with patients, staff, and other healthcare providers
