Lead the production of the statutory Financial Statements, overseeing and linking up with the Corporate AccountantsTo ensure the Accounts are accounted for in line with IFRS and CIPFA''s Code of Practice for Local Government Accounting.To be a technical expert in Corporate Finance and provide specialist financial accounting advice to budget holders and officers in other parts of Finance to support decision-makingTo ensure all the technical notes are kept up to date to ensure business continuity and to allow officers to develop expertise in all areas across Corporate Finance.To ensure that all key reconciliations and forecasts are updated in line with the Financial Regulations and with the timescales for quarterly accounts production.Experience Required

Qualified AccountantExperience of a similar role with Local GovernmentHigh levels of technical accounting knowledgeAdvanced levels of Excel and data manipulationKnowledge of council budgets, accounts production and group accounting.Strong financial accounting skills (technical, not just management accounting).Great analytical and Excel skills - able to interpret complex financial data.Confident communicator - can explain finance to councillors, directors, and non-finance people.Advanced IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with large finance systems.Proven ability to give financial advice at senior level.Salary Range: £55-65,000Local Government benefits and a 36-hour working ..... full job details .....
