Holt Recruitment are working on behalf of a successful national forklift group to recruit an experienced Depot Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a busy depot, taking full responsibility for its commercial, operational and financial performance while managing engineers, workshop staff and support teams.

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day running of the depot, ensuring high levels of customer service, operational efficiency, profitability and compliance, while supporting the continued growth of the business.

The Role

• Full profit and loss responsibility for the depot.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, pricing, margins, warranty, WIP and cost control.
• Lead workshop and field service operations, ensuring efficient planning and utilisation of engineers.
• Monitor fleet availability, invoicing, service records and operational performance.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, resolving escalated issues where required.
• Recruit, develop and manage depot employees, including performance management, training and succession planning.
• Ensure high standards of health & safety, compliance and operational governance.
• Drive continuous improvement across depot operations and service delivery.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Depot Manager, Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Service Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong commercial and operational management experience with full P&L responsibility.
• Experience leading engineering, workshop or field service teams.
• Excellent customer service, leadership and organisational skills.
• Background within the Forklift, Plant, Material Handling, Powered Access or Construction Equipment sectors is highly desirable.
