About The RoleThe Dementia Adviser role requires you to work passionately to provide advice, support and guidance to people affected by dementia, carers and their families. Team Sahara at The Alzheimer''s Society are proud to have a small but passionate team with a welcoming and supportive culture.This role will be supporting the South Asian community within the Greater Manchester area, so we are looking for someone who is fluent in one or more South Asian languages including Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi and in particular Bangla or Gujarati as well as English. You will be working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 21 hours a week. We are a Dementia Support Service dedicated to serving the South Asian Community in Greater Manchester. You will: - Offer a vital and compassionate service providing information, a referral and signpost service as well as emotional and practical support to people affected by dementia and their families. - Managing referrals and case loads - Supporting our Memory Cafés and other group activities - Facilitating information and awareness raising events - Delivering talks and presentations to public audiences. - Build relationships with a range of local contacts, networking with health and care professionals, marketing Alzheimer''s Society services and providing dementia support. - Develop networks and pathways with partner organisations who work in the field of dementia, ensuring seamless and consistent support and empowering individuals affected by dementia ..... full job details .....
