  • Develop concept and detailed design packages for both internal and external review.

  • Follow your designs through to 3rd party approval, construction, commissioning, and project handover.

  • Produce essential technical documentation, including block diagrams, single line diagrams, wiring schematics, and cable/load/material schedules.

  • Proactively manage design change control and identify project risks, devising contingency plans.

  • Attend and contribute to HAZID/HAZCON and Design Assurance & Review meetings.

  • Collaborate effectively with the Design, Construction, and Project Management teams, as well as P6 Planners.

  • Mentor and develop new and existing engineers within the team.

  • Ensure all company management systems and processes are adhered to.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Design Engineer, ideally within the power transmission, utilities, or critical infrastructure sectors.

  • Proficient in Amtech (or ElectricalOM) and AutoCAD.

  • Experience designing Low Voltage (LV) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) AC systems, AC UPS, and DC systems.

  • Experience designing security systems such as Door Access, CCTV, and Power Fence.

  • Ability to create 2D drawings (General Arrangement/Site Layouts) and ideally 3D BIM/Revit models.

  • Demonstrable ability to produce detailed technical schedules (Cable, Load, Material, Equipment).

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Full, valid UK driving licence with a willingness to travel to sites across the UK mainland.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (2382) & Level 4 Design and Verification (2396).

  • Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering (Ideally BEng).

  • Working towards or achieved Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.

  • Experience with REVIT BIM, Hazardous Area Design (ATEX/IECEx), and DSEAR.

  • National Grid Person - Substation and/or EUSR - SHEA Gas certifications.

Why Join?

  • Impactful Work: Play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure for the UK''s energy networks.

  • Autonomy: Take ownership of your projects from cradle to grave, seeing your designs come to life.
