DC Architect - 12-Months Contract - Reading (Office Based) - Inside IR35 Our client, a leading IT consultancy, is looking for a Data Centre Architect to join a major infrastructure programme in Reading. You will own the architecture and design of data centre and hybrid environments, guide consolidation and migration activity, and act as the senior technical authority across compute, storage, network and resilience. Key Responsibilities Design and document end-to-end data centre architectures, covering compute, storage, network and virtualisation. Lead data centre consolidation, exit and migration planning, including target-state designs and transition roadmaps. Define resilience, backup and DR strategy, including RPO and RTO targets, using tools such as Rubrik. Provide technical direction on monitoring and operational tooling (eg SCOM) and champion automation and Infrastructure as Code. Advise stakeholders and senior leadership on architectural options, risks and standards, and provide out-of-hours escalation support. What You Will Ideally Bring Proven experience as a Data Centre or Infrastructure Architect on large enterprise environments. Strong knowledge of virtualisation and SDDC, particularly VMware. Solid grounding in data centre networking (eg leaf-spine, resilient design) and Tier II-IV facility concepts.
