Data Services Manager , must live within 2 hours of London and be able to come in for ad-hoc meetings when required. Primarily home based with occasional office meetings. Role 90% management and 10% technical and you will manage a team of 6. Salary £80,000 - £85,000 + good benefits.Expanding financial services client are looking for a Data Services Manager to join their team. The role will suit a candidate who has been a manager for a couple of years and is looking to further develop their management career. Guiding a team of 6 you will be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the data function, with a focus on leading and mentoring data engineers to deliver high quality, scalable data solutions. Working across the business with multiple stakeholders you will design and continually improve data solutions.A critical aspect of this role is Data Governance, Data Quality and Data Management practices, ensuring the business meet regulatory obligations and manage risk.Accountabilities

Technical leadership - provide technical leadership for the high performing data engineering and BI function.Team leadership - manage the team and act as deputy to the Senior Data Services Manager.Delivery of SolutionsData Governance and Data QualityAgile DeliveryRisk and complianceTechnical debt managementExperience required

Strong experience as a hands-on data engineerWorked your way into a lead data role and then into a managementVery strong technical skills that will include - SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SASPower BI, Power PlatformAzure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, DatabricksA good understanding of dimensional modelling techniques, including Kimball\''s Business Development LifecycleAbility to design hybrid data solutions across on-prem and cloud data sourcesExpert with data engineering tools and automation techniquesThis is a great chance to join an expanding business in a key role.This position is home based but you need to live within 2 hours of London so you can go to the office for ad hoc meetings when required.
