Data Scientist - Database Analyst/Programmer II

Larne, Northern Ireland (On-Site)

Location: Larne (On-site)
Contract: 12 months (Inside IR35)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Flexible start/finish - typically 8:00am-4:00pm)

We''re currently looking for a talented Data Scientist / Database Analyst Programmer to join a leading engineering organisation based in Larne, Northern Ireland.



Role Overview

This is a hands-on role focused on data engineering, analytics, and automation, supporting key initiatives within a complex engineering environment. You''ll play a vital part in building data pipelines, delivering analytical insights, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Snowflake
  • Cleanse, transform, and validate large datasets to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Manage scheduled data loads and perform ongoing data quality checks
  • Support and contribute to data governance, standards, and documentation
  • Deliver high-quality, curated datasets for reporting and business analysis
  • Support development of KPIs, dashboards, and analytical models
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data, integration, and reporting issues
  • Build and optimise solutions using Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate
  • Integrate and manage CRM data (including Salesforce) to support business processes
  • Identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities across workflows.



Required Skills & Experience

  • 3-5+ years'' experience in data science, analytics, data engineering, or automation roles
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and Snowflake
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Experience working with CRM data (Salesforce preferred)
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, analytics, and data quality principles
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (preferred)



Preferred / Bonus Skills

  • Exposure to machine learning or advanced analytics
  • Experience with cloud data platforms
