OverviewAs a Data Product Lead for Gallagher UK you have an exciting opportunity to join a growing Enterprise Data Management team, working closely with our Chief Data Officer and being focused on building a comprehensive management and view of data products across a global powerhouse in Insurance Broking market.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join us as a Lead for our Data Products initiative. As a Data Product Lead, you will be responsible for driving the development and execution of our data products for this domain, ensuring they meet the needs of our organisation and customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business collaborators, to define product requirements, prioritise features, and deliver high-quality data products.
This role involves significant cross-functional collaboration, including dealing with Senior Stakeholders and IT Teams across our insurance broking divisions; Specialty, Pen Underwriting and Retail.
We offer flexible and hybrid working and this role will be based from our London City office. We are expecting the successful candidate to work 3 days a week in the office with two days working from home.
How you''ll make an impact
Define and prioritize the roadmap for Gallagher UK, aligning with the overall IT and business strategy and goals.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their needs, translating them into clear and actionable product specifications.
Work closely with data scientists and engineers to ensure the successful development and delivery of data products, ensuring they meet high quality standards and deliver on time.
Lead the completion of change management activities across functional partners and ensure adherence to Gallagher’s risk, controls, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Understand the data needs to design and implement the data architecture and data model for a scalable data driven product organisation.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the data product space, ensuring our products remain competitive and innovative. Lead end-to-end product delivery processes including intake, dependency management, release management, product operationalization, delivery feasibility decision-making, and product performance reporting, while escalating opportunities to improve efficiencies and functional coordination.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of our data products, making data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement.
Responsible for creating Agile work items to elaborate the needs for functional additions, enhancements, or defects, ensuring work items have a clear definition of done, and prioritizing work each sprint / quarter / year
Champion across Gallagher UK on Agile Ways of Working and participate in working sessions across the organisation to accelerate agile adoption and improve on best practices.
About You
Extensive experience gained working as a Product Owner or similar role, in an agile environment, preferably in a data or analytics domain
Previous background working in Data and Analytics in an insurance company, brokerage or MGA is needed for this position.
Familiarity with the Microsoft technology such as Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, Collibra, and PowerBI would be an advantage however generally experience with other Master Data Management tools will be considered.
Demonstrated success working independently in a matrix management model and collaborating with stakeholders and virtual teams across global locations
A excellent understanding of data management practices, including data privacy protection, data quality, data architecture and modelling is needed
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable product specifications.
Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels and present to groups and external stakeholders.
