We’re seeking someone with expertise in data privacy, working across operational data privacy systems, and advising the Legal team and broader business on data privacy matters.The role involves managing and maintaining our ROPA, ensuring impact assessments are performed and recorded appropriately, advising on contractual data privacy matters, and acting as the data privacy SME within the Legal team. You will also work on commercial matters related to our media business, engaging with digital, video, audio, and print content.You will work in our Hammersmith office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with flexibility to work across all five weekdays for five hours each day within core hours (9.30am-5.30pm). Occasional UK travel may be required to collaborate with colleagues in Bristol, Manchester, or Nottingham.As a Data Privacy and Commercial Lawyer, you will;Support the DPO in maintaining best practices in data privacyAdvise on data risk, privacy, and protection, including GDPR and PECR complianceMaintain and develop our data privacy systems, including the ROPA and impact assessmentsAssist the business with data issues related to expansion into new jurisdictionsProvide in-house training on regulatory and compliance data issuesSupport data privacy matters concerning Immediate’s consumersLiaise with our parent company’s data privacy specialists in GermanyDraft and negotiate agreements related to data privacyDevelop best practices and practical processes for data privacy within the team and businessDraft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and partnerships across the Immediate brandsCandidate requirements include:A qualified lawyer with at least 3 years PQE in a commercial law firm or in-house environmentStrong academic background and relevant experience; alternative qualifications consideredThorough understanding of data protection law, especially GDPR and ePrivacySolid contract law knowledge; IP law experience is a plusExcellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and relationship skillsTeam player with high performance under pressureEffective time-management and prioritisation skills, suitable for part-time workEnthusiasm for the business and its growthBenefits include:Relaxed environment with social events and well-being initiatives25 days holiday plus your birthday, with office closure over Christmas/New YearHealth cash back plan, electric vehicle lease scheme, training resources, flexible/hybrid working, early finish Fridays, cycle-to-work scheme, family policies, pension, and life assuranceModern, collaborative office spaceAt Immediate, we pride ourselves on an inclusive, collaborative, and dynamic culture that empowers our people.
