Data EngineerThis role is largely remote with the occasional travel.We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer who is skilled in all toolsets in data platforms including Azure SQL, data lake, Databricks and data factory, and specialised in building high performance, highly scalable and cost-effective data solution within time and budget.We are looking to improve and centralise data and you will be responsible for tactical and strategic improvements to data flows across the Pricing and Underwriting department. This role will sit within Data Science and Machine Learning, but with close relationship with the wider Data Engineering team.Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and document high-quality data products using Databricks, ensuring code is performant and written to a high standardCollaborate closely with business stakeholders, data architects and the Machine Learning team to translate business requirements into technical solutionsFrom a tactical perspective, improve the useability of data in the business: access and consolidation of data from different systems, loading of missing data, fixing of inconsistent data items, and creating a useable gold layerImplement data pipelines for business use cases, such as geographic or vehicle data updatesMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues to ensure reliability and performanceSupport team delivery to ensure projects are completed on timeWork with modern development lifecycle tools and practices, ..... full job details .....
