Data Center Facility Engineer, Data Center Engineering Operations Location: LONDON, United Kingdom (Onsite) Role Overview Our organization is seeking a mechanically-biased Engineering Operations Technician to join our team. This hands-on role is focused on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical cooling and water systems infrastructure across our data center portfolio. The ideal candidate must have a data center background and will work directly with air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, and associated water treatment plant. This is a shift-based role requiring flexibility to support 24/7 operations. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair pipework, fittings, valves, and manifolds across cooling distribution loops and water circuits. Operate and maintain air handling units (AHUs), chillers, cooling towers, evaporative cooling systems, and liquid cooling infrastructure. Perform pressure testing, leak detection, and system integrity checks on pressurized water circuits. Manage water treatment programs in line with ACOP L8 and HSG274 requirements. Maintain and troubleshoot pumps, heat exchangers, coolant distribution units (CDUs), and associated mechanical components. Monitor thermal performance of cooling systems to optimize flow rates and energy efficiency. Support commissioning and decommissioning of mechanical cooling infrastructure.
