Dance Lecturer Performing Arts (14.8 hours pw)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant Performing Arts department in a 0.4 FTE (14.8 hours per week) role, delivering high-quality Dance provision to learners pursuing careers in the creative industries. Monday 9-12.15, Tuesday-9-10.30, 1.15-3, Friday-9-4.30
Based in our well-equipped Performing Arts facilities, including dedicated dance studios and a 250-seat theatre, you'll help learners develop the technical ability, creativity and confidence needed to succeed in higher education and the professional performance industry.

What you'll do:
• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across the RSL Extended Diploma in Dance
• Lead engaging practical studio sessions in areas including Jazz, Choreography, Dance Auditions and Careers in the Performing Arts
• Prepare learners for assessments, performances and two major dance productions each year
• Support learners to develop their technical ability, creativity, confidence and professionalism
• Act as a personal tutor, supporting learners' academic, personal and pastoral development
• Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment and internal quality assurance activities
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to create an inspiring, industry-focused learning experience
• Support learners to progress into higher education, professional training or employment within the performing arts industry
What we're looking for:
• A qualification in Dance, Performing Arts or a related discipline
• Professional dance industry experience and experience teaching or coaching young performers
• A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
• Versatility across a range of dance styles and performance techniques
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate, challenge and inspire learners to achieve their full potential
• A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous professional development
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
