Cylindrical / Surface Grinder

Our client is seeking an experienced Cylindrical / Surface Grinder to join our precision engineering team. The role involves operating Cylindrical and surface grinding machines to achieve high-precision finishes on metal components used in various industries, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation: Set up and operate cylindrical and surface grinding machines to grind metal parts to precise dimensions and finishes.
• Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
• Precision Grinding: Perform grinding operations on various materials, maintaining tight tolerances.
• Quality Assurance: Familiarity with inspecting ground components using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications is desired but not essential.
• Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on grinding equipment.
• Process Optimisation: Identify and suggest improvements to enhance grinding efficiency and quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Cylindrical and surface grinding.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in setting up and operating cylindrical and surface grinding machines and understanding grinding principles.
• Attention to Detail: Strong focus on achieving high-precision finishes and maintaining tight tolerances.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve grinding issues.
• Teamwork: Effective communication and collaboration with the engineering team.
