Cyber Security Engineer

Proximity is searching for a talented Cyber Security Engineer (circa £70,000 + 15% Bonus + Benefits) to join one of Europe''s fastest growing fintech firms who are opening a new London office (EC4). You will work closely with IT operations, development and platform teams, as well as selected external security providers in a key cyber role for the firm. The position is office based or hybrid. Responsibilities: Maintain and improve security controls across identity, endpoint, cloud, business applications and supporting infrastructure, promoting least-privilege and zero-trust principles. Review and strengthen security configurations, device compliance, cloud services, SaaS applications, third-party integrations and technical designs. Operate vulnerability and exposure-management processes, coordinate remediation with system owners and verify corrective actions. Investigate security alerts and incidents, maintain incident-response procedures, coordinate response activities and drive improvements through exercises and post-incident reviews. Produce security risk, incident and remediation reports; support audits, customer assurance and compliance activities; and develop technical security standards, procedures and guidance. The role is the first cyber piece in a 220-person business meaning the client is looking for a hands-on individual with the ability to grow strategically.
