Cyber Security Engineer

Cyber Security Engineer required by expanding, market leading organisation based in North Somerset. The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for managing the technical security tools, particularly focused on protection and detection. You will assist with ongoing cyber security projects and achieving strategic objectives, particularly to reduce cyber security risk. Main Responsibilities: Assist with implementing, maintaining, and documenting new security solutions and ensure existing systems are replaced. Own the endpoint protection, boundary firewalls, and other technical security solutions. Ability to implement exceptions and make changes for new requirements according to least privilege principles, while maintaining usability and good end user experience. Using open-source intelligence and disclosures from official sources, identify potential security risks, and be able to suggest remediation steps as required by the IT department, internal stakeholders, or external partners according to commensurate level of risk. Working with the Cyber Security Analyst, undertake 2nd and 3rd line support duties for IT Security related incidents and requests and resolve issues within IT Service Level Agreements. Contribute to the professional development of the Cyber Security Analyst and junior members of the IT team. Provide out of hours support on a rotating basis.
