Right Now Group are representing a well-established specialist freight forwarder , who are currently recruiting for a Customs Team Leader to join their operation based in the Kent area. Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced individual to oversee road freight customs activities, ensuring all import and export processes are completed accurately, compliantly, and within agreed timeframes.Position: Customs Team LeaderLocation: KentHours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:30Salary:up to £40,000Key Responsibilities for a Customs Team Leader:Lead and supervise a team of Customs Clerks, ensuring workloads are distributed effectively to meet deadlines and service expectationsOversee the completion of import and export declarations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirementsAct as the main escalation point for complex or high-risk customs entries and resolve issues efficientlyEnsure adherence to all HMRC and associated regulatory frameworks, keeping up to date with legislative changesMonitor daily operations, reviewing documentation and entries to minimise delays, errors, or financial penaltiesMaintain strong communication with clients, internal departments, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operationsOversee the correct calculation and processing of duties, taxes, and deferment accountsIdentify risks within customs processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and complianceSupport the training, development, and performance ..... full job details .....
