Customs Coordinator

Position: Customs Coordinator
Location: Erith
Salary: -28,000 - -35,000 (DOE)

Bennett and Game are currently partnering with an established Freight company who are actively seeking a skilled Customs professional to join their Erith location.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customs clearance activities across Import road, ocean and air freight operations, ensuring full compliance with UK customs regulations and delivering a high level of service to clients.

Position Overview

• Coordinate and process import customs declarations for road, sea and air freight shipments.

• Ensure accurate completion of entries using CDS and other relevant customs platforms.

• Liaise with HMRC, port authorities, freight forwarders and internal teams to resolve customs queries.

• Classify goods using correct commodity codes, customs procedures and valuation methods.

• Monitor customs clearance progress and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies.

• Maintain accurate records in line with customs compliance and audit requirements.

Position Requirements

• Proven experience in a Customs Coordinator / Customs Clerk / Customs Administrator role.

• Strong knowledge of UK import operations.

• Hands-on experience with CDS and similar customs declaration platforms.

• Understanding of commodity codes, incoterms, VAT and duty processes.

• Ability to work effectively under time pressure and manage multiple shipments.

Package & Benefits

• Competitive salary of -28,000 - -35,000, dependent on experience

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:30 working hours
