Our Client, a City of London based Commercial Bank, is seeking to hire a
Credit Portfolio Assistant
to join this growing team.
The role requires fluency in Mandarin.Principal Purpose of the Job :Assess, analyse, and manage potential risks related to extending credit to businesses or other entities.Minimise the Bank’s credit-related losses by monitoring the loan portfolio and identifying early warning signals.Achieve portfolio objectives considering risk tolerance, return expectations, and market conditions.Ensure timely and accurate delivery of internal and external reports.Produce reports in both Chinese and English.Assist the Head/Deputy Head of Credit Management with departmental projects and tasks.Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Monitor the credit portfolio continuously to identify early warning signals of distress or deteriorating credit quality, analysing repayment patterns, financial covenants, internal ratings, country risk, large exposures, and other credit risk indicators.Prepare regular credit risk reports and MI packs for management, committees, Head Office, regulators, and stakeholders, providing updates on credit risk exposure and risk management effectiveness.Manage credit risk controls, including limit reservations for derivatives and money markets.Evaluate credit risk impact on the bank’s loan book by monitoring macroeconomic trends, industry/sector performance, peer performance, products, and conducting in-depth analyses.Oversee asset quality management, including non-performing loans assessment and write-offs.Calculate IFRS 9 provisions and draft provision overlay memos.Support policy, procedure, and manual reviews and updates.Skills Required:Minimum of 2 years'' experience in credit portfolio analysis.Fluent in both English and Mandarin, with strong written and verbal skills.Ability to work independently with good time management skills.Strong data analysis skills using Excel and Power BI; knowledge of Python and Access is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and related tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Seniority level
