Credit Manager – Property Development FinanceThe Company:An established, highly successful, and rapidly growing FinTech. Recognized as one of the UK’s top 100 fastest-growing technology companies in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 for two consecutive years.Role Purpose:As a Credit Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the credit quality of new loans using the Company’s Credit Models and Policies, ensuring lenders do not take undue risk with their capital. Extensive development finance knowledge and experience are required for success in this role.Role Responsibilities:Adhere to sanction limits according to the Company’s sanctioning matrix.Assist the Head of Credit in developing and recommending commercial loan objectives, policies, and practices, including establishing internal controls and policies for Board approval.Ensure all new Credit reports comply with the Company’s policies and guidelines.Report exceptions and provide recommendations to the Head of Credit.Advise on concentration risks and suggest mitigants.Identify and recommend improvements for policy, process, and procedure shortcomings.Stay informed about current rates, activities, and regulatory issues, incorporating them into sanctioning decisions.Ensure day-to-day risk controls are followed.Conduct pre-application discussions with Relationship Directors to assess risk appetite.Participate in Deal Forum and Borrower Review Forum meetings.Respond to pricing requests within Service Level Agreements.Review Sighting Papers and Credit Reports, responding with reasons for approval or decline, or proposing alternative terms.Address lender questions via the website QandA.Coordinate with the Deal team to ensure timely loan progress to drawdown.Verify loan agreements comply with sanctions and conditions before release.Ensure all Financial Conditions Precedent are met before drawdown.Attend departmental meetings to promote credit knowledge.Monitor development loans post-deal, including tranche drawdowns and updates.Provide redemption figures and loan statements.Attend client meetings as appropriate.Train and support new relationship staff.Skills and Knowledge Required:Extensive property development funding credit experience.Ability to make informed decisions on new deals.Awareness of broader business context and a commercial approach.Strong decision-making skills.Effective communication skills internally and externally.Understanding of how credit issues impact the wider business.High attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational skills and personal responsibility for workflow.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.GCSE level education or equivalent.Experience in FCA-regulated environments.Experience in similar roles within financial services.Excellent knowledge of loan, security, and financial documents.Future and Reward:Join a stable, growing business with a relaxed and enthusiastic team environment.Career advancement opportunities as the business expands.Competitive salary based on experience, plus bonus, pension, healthcare, life cover, and other benefits.
