Credit Manager – Property Development FinanceThe Company:An established, highly successful, and rapidly growing FinTech. A commercial lender with nationwide coverage, financing Property Investors, Developers, and SMEs to help them grow. Recognized as one of the UK’s top 100 fastest-growing technology companies in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 for two consecutive years.Role Purpose:As a Credit Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the credit quality of new loans using the Company’s Credit Models and Policies, ensuring lenders do not take undue risks with their capital. Extensive development finance knowledge and experience are required.Role Responsibilities:Adhere to a Sanction Limit according to the Company’s sanctioning matrix.Assist in developing and recommending loan objectives, policies, and practices, establishing internal controls and procedures for Board approval.Ensure all new Credit reports comply with company policies.Report exceptions and provide recommendations to the Head of Credit.Advise on concentration risks and suggest mitigants for new business opportunities.Identify and recommend improvements to policies, processes, and procedures.Stay informed on current rates, activities, and regulatory issues, incorporating them into sanctioning decisions.Maintain day-to-day risk controls.Conduct pre-application discussions with Relationship Directors.Participate in Deal Forum and Borrower Review Forum meetings.Respond to pricing requests within SLAs.Review Sighting Papers and Credit Reports, providing approval, decline, or alternative terms.Respond to lender questions via website QandA.Liaise with the Deal team to ensure timely loan processing.Verify all loan agreements for compliance before release.Ensure all conditions are met prior to loan drawdown.Attend relevant departmental meetings to promote credit knowledge.Monitor post-deal development loans, undertake tranche drawdowns, and update phases upon sales proceeds receipt.Provide redemption figures and loan statements.Attend client meetings as appropriate.Provide training and support to new staff.Skills and Knowledge Required:Extensive property development funding credit experience.Ability to make informed decisions on new deals.Awareness of the wider business context and a commercial approach.Strong decision-making skills.Good internal and external communication skills.Understanding of how credit issues impact the wider business.Attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational skills and personal responsibility.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.GCSE level education or equivalent.Experience in FCA-regulated environments.Experience in similar financial services roles.Excellent knowledge of loan, security, and financial documents.Future and Reward:Join a stable, growing business with a relaxed and enthusiastic team environment.Career progression opportunities as the business expands.Competitive salary, bonus, pension, healthcare, life cover, and other benefits.
