We''re looking for a Credit Controller to join a growing business where you''ll play an important role across the finance function. This is a varied opportunity that combines credit control responsibilities with purchase ledger, giving you the chance to build strong relationships, take ownership of your workload and make a real impact on the day-to-day running of the business.

As a Credit Controller, you''ll be trusted to manage your own workload, improve processes where you see opportunities and become a valued member of a supportive finance team.

What you''ll be doing Credit Control

• Managing customer accounts and chasing outstanding payments by phone and email
• Monitoring aged debt and ensuring customers remain within agreed payment terms
• Building positive relationships with customers to resolve payment queries quickly
• Reviewing accounts, highlighting potential risks and escalating where appropriate
• Working closely with colleagues across the business to improve cash collection

Purchase Ledger

• Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
• Matching, batching, coding and reconciling supplier invoices
• Resolving supplier queries and building strong working relationships
• Chasing approvals and ensuring invoices are processed in line with payment deadlines
• Supporting month-end activities and maintaining accurate financial records

Supporting the Finance Team

• Assisting with reconciliations and month-end processes
• Looking for ways to improve existing processes and make the finance function more efficient
• Providing support across the wider finance team as required

What we''re looking for

• Previous experience in a Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable or wider finance role
• Ideally experience across both Credit Control and Purchase Ledger, although training can be provided for the right person
• A confident communicator who enjoys building relationships and isn''t afraid to pick up the phone
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• A proactive approach with the confidence to investigate queries and improve processes
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
