Credit Controller

Hays Accountancy and Finance are supporting a well-established business in recruiting an experienced Credit Controller for a 12-week temp-to-perm opportunity. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of a ledger, building customer relationships, and helping to drive cash collection performance.The RoleYou''ll be responsible for managing customer accounts, reducing aged debt, maintaining accurate sales ledger records, and ensuring payments are collected within agreed terms.Key Duties:Chasing overdue invoices via phone and emailManaging a high-volume customer ledgerConducting credit checks and setting credit limitsResolving customer payment queries and disputesProducing statements, invoices, credit notes and account reconciliationsAllocating cash and processing sales ledger transactionsMonitoring credit risk and minimising bad debt exposureSupporting legal recovery processes where requiredWorking closely with internal teams to resolve account issuesAbout YouPrevious credit control experience is essentialStrong communication and negotiation skillsConfident managing difficult conversations professionallyExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsGood working knowledge of Excel and finance systemsAble to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamWhat''s on Offer?£32,000 - £34,000 salary (pro rata)12-week temporary contract with permanent opportunityFull-time hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pmSupportive and friendly finance ..... full job details .....
