OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional with a strong operational background, proven experience in data and invoicing management, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in Excel, a strong understanding of finance processes and qualifications, and prior exposure to higher education environments. This role requires someone who can work independently, manage complex operational tasks, and collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee data entry, reconciliation, and invoicing processes with precision and accuracy.

Take an operational approach to daily responsibilities, ensuring that work flows are efficient and that deadlines are consistently met.

Communicate effectively with students, academic staff, and external contacts, maintaining professionalism and clarity in all interactions.

Utilise advanced Excel skills for data management, analysis, reporting, and to support decision-making across the department.

Develop and maintain financial reports, forecasts, and reconciliations in line with organisational requirements.

Support the wider department by contributing to operational planning, process improvement, and the implementation of best practices.

Ensure compliance with institutional and financial regulations, drawing on knowledge of finance qualifications and principles.

Provide operational and financial support in the context of higher education, understanding the unique challenges and requirements of this environment.

Collaborate cross-departmentally, contributing to smooth administrative and financial operations.

Assist with budgeting, expenditure tracking, and preparation of financial documentation for audits or reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

Demonstrated experience in managing data, invoicing, and operational tasks.

Strong background in finance with relevant qualifications (e.g., accounting certifications, finance degree, or equivalent professional training).

Advanced Excel user, with proven ability to design spreadsheets, apply formulas, use pivot tables, and generate reports.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging students and stakeholders outside the immediate department.

Prior experience in a higher education setting is highly desirable, offering familiarity with academic processes and administrative frameworks.

Strong analytic and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment.

Attention to detail and accuracy in both financial and operational tasks.

Ability to adapt quickly to new systems, processes, and challenges.
